Helping your child embrace, flourish, and thrive with ADHD

Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

A neurodevelopmental condition that includes inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity-potentially leading to difficulty concentrating, staying organized, managing time or controlling impulses affecting the child at school and home.

Executive Function

Refers to the cognitive skills needed to plan, organize, manage time, pay attention, remember details and actively pursue goals. These skills are challenging for kids with ADHD.

What's the difference between ADHD and Executive Function?

ADHD is an official diagnosis.  Executive Function challenges is not.  Executive Function is a term that refers to weaknesses in the brains self-management system.

Children with ADHD struggle with Executive Function skills.

Some children who don't have ADHD also struggle with these skills.

Understanding how Executive Functioning challenges affect kids with ADHD can help parents know what a child’s trouble spots are and how to help.
